We have the email acknowledge feature enabled on our system and it is set to quiet the alert until the condition is resolved and changes status again, we use extensive event escalation alerting. When an alarm is tripped we have the notification delivered to a distribution list. Everyone gets the message, but a question was raised, what happens if someone is out of the office and has OoO replies enabled. I believe this would quiet the alert which may leave someone to believe the issue has been resolved. Is that logic correct? If so is there a way to make PA Server Monitor look for a keyword in the body of the message, or tell PA Server Monitor to ignore certain keywords? in the subject or body of the email? Thanks!!! asked 21 Sep '17, 13:19 mike_work |
Hi mike_work, Your logic is correct that if a auto reply email is sent to the reply address that the alert will be acknowledged. The ability to look for a keyword is not built in to the product. The idea will be passed on to see if it can be implemented or not. Meanwhile, you may want to look at your email client to set the auto reply not to send an auto reply if an alert is received, this will stop any unintentional acknowledgements in the future.
