Failed to Save Credentials

Viewed 0

When attempting to save windows credentials, receive the following error:

Failed to save the selected credentials to use. The OS reports: The data area passed to a system call is too small. [Err=0x0000007A (122), CurrUser=xxxxxxx, Imp={none}]

where 'xxxxxxxx' is my local user account (admin)

Using local database storage option PA Server Monitor Ultra version 7.1.1.54

Some Internet research indicates this problem is not specific to PowerAdmin - it can happen to other applications - but the solutions for other applications don't seem to apply.

We'll need to review your log files for this error. Would you please send us your log files? The best way would be to go to Settings and in this menu you will see a button to FTP the log files to us. Use your name for the ticket number.

Also please send an email request to support@poweradmin.com letting us know that you have sent the files and add a link to this post.

Thanks

Logs uploaded. Email with link to this item sent per your request.

Second set of logs sent as the first set did not contain the error message (it had rolled off due to time elapsed). I'm not able to find any corresponding event in any of the Windows Event logs (system, application, security) at any error level.

This was resolved by granting read/write access to the service account (PA Service 'run as' account) to the following registry key
