Hi, I want to setup a monitor and report for a user to run, but don't fire and log alerts. All we need is a report every period which we can look in to and traverse. We don't want all the alerts being generated. I've set up a monitor and disabled 'fire actions if the above file activities occur' Now every report I create is empty.. Can you please help me out? Leon, I think you need to read our documentation on the pages below they will help you set the setting for your customer. Basically you needed to set your setting to record the information that you want to track. If you don't want any alerts then you don't need to add an alert to the monitor. I would recommend that you add the Text Log File Action to your monitor, this will keep the service from giving you a pop-up each time you view the monitor or open the console saying that you don't have an alert attached to that monitor. If you are needing to keep data for a long time you may want to use SQL database but it all depends on how much data you are recording. A few other questions asked directly to support: Do I need to have the setting 'fire actions....' and have events recorded? I had the last setting (events) enabled initially, but then there was a very large log, for every action. I just want all activities logged, and be able to review reports after a few months. This data have to be stored for a longer period. Can you let me know what settings has to be enabled to achieve this? |
