Backup Fails with VSS

Every other week I have a backup failure on my VM that host Power Admin and file sight. I am using tivoli TSm VSS plugin. There error is Event Type: Error Event Source: TsmVssPlugin Event Category: None Event ID: 4112 Date: 10/29/2012 Time: 8:09:54 PM User: NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM Computer: TORMN02 Description: VSS processing encountered error 'E_OUTOFMEMORY' in the Volume Shadow Copy API 'QueryStatus:DoSnapshotSet'. What does this e out of memory mean-the system has plenty of memory.

Hi Julie,

It appears that your VM running out of memory or other system resources. The event that occurs is not due to the PA File Sight but looks like a system error. You will need review your VM and make sure that you have enough memory allocated that the backup can occur. Here is a link to more information on the "DoSnapshotSet" & "E_OUTOFMEMORY".
