Hi,

I will be updating my current PA Server Monitor Ultra to the latest build. What would you recommend as a Best Practice in case the update should fail and the software needs to be installed from scratch. I don't want to lose all my configurations. I know the process to export complete configuration and realize that there are also backup configs. What is needed for a full restore?

Thanks Julie

Hi Julie,

There hasn't been an issue losing config information or data during an install. We have had some customers that would prefer to export their config and copy their data before the install, so you could follow the step on the Moving or Copying a Server Monitoring Application page on our site.

Also, here is a link to the Importing and Exporting Configurations page that will give you information on exporting your configurations.

Thank you for the feedback. To be on the safe side I exported the configurations to another folder. Ran the update with no issues. Julie
