We are looking to use Server Monitor. I was wondering if you could enlighten me on the ESX Host monitoring. I understand that it does the Performance monitoring of the main system, but can it monitor the individual servers being hosted on the ESX unit? For example, can the ESX monitor check to see if services are running on a certain server being hosted on that ESX unit? Or, is it best to monitor the VMs as separate servers?

Thanks!

Hi Schmidt,

The best way to monitor the individual servers being hosted by the ESX unit as separate servers. It works quite well doing this.

Thanks
Quinn
