[from customer support request] I poked around in your help guide and in PASM a few weeks ago, looking for a way that I can dictate what the “Default Monitors” are, so that when I add a new server/s, I don’t have to just accept the default provided now, then spend 15 minutes altering each server monitor to suit our needs. I was unable to find info on this, but it would seem logical that I should be able to build the default monitors as I see fit for our environment. Please enlighten. UPDATE: Template support is available in version 6 and newer. Please see this page for more information. Although there isn't 'template' support yet, using Bulk Config to copy configurations from one server that is setup the way you like to a bunch of other servers is really easy. See Bulk Config -> Computers: Copy Server Configuration to Other Computers PLEASE NOTE: As of version 6 which has been released, Monitor Templates are supported! :)

I am actually looking for this very same thing. I found that copying monitors from one server to another does not remove the pre-existing one and also copies over IE> Drives that do not exist on target servers from source server. I would like to create a generic template for Drive monitoring that can apply to all servers but is smart enough to know to NOT monitor those drives that do not exist. This is most excellent! When is Q2 with regards to release date?

For posterity's sake, I'm writing this in June 2015. I say that because the 6.0 Beta has what you're after -- monitor templates! It will be smart enough to not monitor drives that don't exist. You can read more here: |

I have this same need. We are on the most recent version. The copy monitor does not include dependencies, which is a very important piece of what we need for a "Default Template". We do have a ticket open with support on this problem but when I saw this I wanted to include here also. Thanks, Karla |
