Hi,

I have setup an SNMP Trap monitor (with no filters) on 5.4.0.154. I caused the machine being monitored to send a trap which appeared in the live view but it did not trigger any actions and the monitor remained green. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Regards

Rohan,

Because each monitor works on a single server/device (IP address) you will need to add another server and then and the SNMP monitor to the new server. I would suggest that you add the server by using the IP address and not by it's name.

If you want you could add the server by using the IP address and then copy all of the monitors from the old server to the new server and then remove the old server. This keeps your license count the same. The only draw back to this option is that you will lose your history.

Thanks
Quinn

Found the issue but not sure how to solve it. The machine I am monitoring has multiple IP's. The traps are being sent from one IP but the IP being monitored from PA is the other. I need to be able to add the additional IP to the SNMP trap in PA but it is read only.

Yes, and it is receiving the traps as you can see them in the live view. But the status of the monitor does not change and the alert is not triggered.

Hi,

Is the SNMP Trap monitor that you have setup attached to the server in the PA Server Monitor console that is sending the trap?

Thanks
Quinn
