Hi,

I found PowerAdmin is quite powerful despite a few hiccups. Now, would you advise which linux distro PA can automatically read and find. I have an ubuntu virtual server inside ESXi which cannot be detected other than ping. Also, surprisingly little device such as cisco SRP527W can be detected very well.

I look forward to your enlightenment.

When working with Linux, SNMP is primarily used. In my limited experience, it seems that SNMP is locked down on Linux distributions (meaning even if the daemon is running, it's configured to not respond to requests coming from the network). So make sure the Linux server will respond to SNMP requests from the network, and then I'd bet PA Server Monitor will find it.
