I have two servers with monitors that are in a "Dependency Not Met" state. One of them has the Event Log Monitor in that state, and the other one has the Critically Low Disk Space Check. Checking the status on the two would seem to indicate that the ping monitor isn't in an OK state on both of the servers, but the Ping monitor seems to be working just fine. Here are the exact statuses:

Event Log Monitor [SERVER1.DOMAIN.NET ] » Dependent monitor [Ping SERVER1.DOMAIN.NET] on [SERVER1.DOMAIN.NET] is not in an OK state

Critically Low Disk Space Check [SERVER2.DOMAIN.NET ] » Dependent monitor [Ping SERVER2.DOMAIN.NET] on [SERVER2.DOMAIN.NET] is not in an OK state**

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi Doug,

At the time the dependency was not met the ping monitor may have not been responding to the in the allotted time that the ping monitor is set for. You could check the log files to see if that was the case. If the error continues to occur maybe the server is having issues responding and you'll want to check into that or you may want to adjust the either of the monitor's settings to help filter out false alerts.

Thanks Quinn
